This hobby of mine where I throw gobs of money at my car to make it go fast isn't fun anymore, and now I'm out of money. Let me know if you guys see a manual diesel around. Preferably VW. I don't know what I'm going to do to the Volvo, but who cares. I spent over $60 to fill up my tank.

I was thinking something like this.

Dammit. It has to be gone. It was on craiglist over a month ago. I got there too late. 50 goddamn miles to the gallon. There has to be something like this up in VT.

Up in VT it'll be rusted to hell and back.

VW diesels are hard to come by, the owners love them. You could go looking on vwvortex.com in their classifieds section.

Given the high cost of diesel, you get more miles/dollar than most gas autos but it's not as big an improvement as it used to be.

I think I saw diesel pushing $5.00 in CT last week.

But then I can start a WVO refinery at the shop and convince my customers to switch and make a fortune. Muhahahahahahaha.

Yes. I definitely want a Turbo Diesel Golf....... maybe. Let me know what you find in your area. I think I'm getting closer to starting to research WVO. Ha. No but really to make biodiesel you have to mess around with methanol and lye and that stuff kinda sucks bigtime.

There's a beautiful old red Beetle for sale near us. I couldn't tell much from the road other than that it's pretty.

Do you have a particular vintage you are looking for? The MkIV (1999-2007) TDIs are probably the easiest to find...

Sub $1500 preferable. I like the idea of the rabbit until my uncle told me the engine has no subframe and the engine is bolted to the frame rails, ergo, vibration city. so MKII and up I suppose.

Not a thing in CT that I could find.

This guy in PA wants $2000 for his 85 : http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3884234

Holy shit dude, I forgot how horrible the engine bays of 1980s cars were. Vacuum hoses everywhere!!

Yeah. If I get one I'm replacing it all with silicone. Oh and I'm not going to bother with vwvortex. There's already a lot of people stalking the diesel classfieds.

Fuck it. I can get a deal on a 85 Mercedes 300D. I might as well. I can always dump it at work if I find something better. Too bad I f-ing hate Mercedes.
