It has some interesting laws for VT. Here's a few:
Open intoxicants are permitted in the vehicle.
Vermont permits passing on the double yellow line unless a signpost specifically prohibits it for a particular section.
It is illegal to coast in neutral.
Rifles and shotguns carried in a vehicle must be unloaded; handguns may be carried loaded and concealed.
So I can have an open beer, and a loaded, concealed handgun in my car while passing over a double line, but they nail you for going over the speed limit. What a fucking state! |

If it's a law it's a law. They can't be selective like that. As long as I'm not a dick about it and draw attention to myself I'm sure it's fine. |

No, it's fine. I see it everyday. I just thought it was some kind of pass-time up here. |

They may try to give you a ticket, thinking that an out-of-stater doesn't know that law, but if you fight it, you'll win (providing that you don't speed to pass if the first place). |

also, guys, be careful about your cell phone usage, you have to be hands free in vermont soon. not a pull-overable offense, but a nice way to cushion a ticket... |

Apparently they have started pulling over ppl in CT for merely using a cell phone, before it was that they didn't seem to do anything about it, but if you did other stuff, they'd add the cell phone ticket too. Apparently my friend was pulled over for using hers, at the same time, the person on the other end of her call was getting pulled over as well. |
